‘Red Dawn’ Remake: North Korea?

According to the IMDB description for the Red Dawn remake, which has apparently completed filming, it is about an invasion from North Korea? The original was back in the eighties and featured an invasion from Russia. Russia was and still is a superpower. North Korea? We’re supposed to be afraid of an invasion from North Korea? I smell box office disaster.

From what I’ve read on Wiki, the film originally was to be a Chinese invasion. That might make more sense, though, why would China bother to invade. They can take us over using the trade deficit and the outsourcing of jobs.

The Red Dawn remake is either going to be so bad it’s good, or it’s just  going to be a mess. I feel sorry that Chris Hemsworth, who I liked so much in Thor, as one of the main actors in this potential debacle.

If the producers had any guts they would have made the story dealing with small town Americans fighting a terrorist invasion, but unfortunately depicting Muslim or Middle Eastern Political extremists is a powder keg because too many viewers can’t distinguish between moderate practitioners of Islam and the nut jobs. An invasion by Iran would even make more sense than North Korea.
